WHY WISCONSIN

Wisconsin's Rich & Underrepresented Hip-Hop Culture

Wisconsin serves as a compelling backdrop for the documentary Lead Between the Rhymes and the Wisconsin Hip-Hop Exhibit due to its rich, yet underrepresented, hip-hop culture. These projects aim to illuminate the state's unique contributions to the genre, particularly focusing on Madison's vibrant scene.

Lead Between the Rhymes, produced by Pyramidal Productions, delves into the untold stories of Wisconsin's hip-hop artists who have defied odds to make their mark in the industry. The documentary highlights the state's diverse talent, from pioneering rap groups to platinum producers, showcasing how they've carved out a place in the competitive world of hip-hop.

Complementing the documentary, the Wisconsin Hip-Hop Cultural Museum Exhibit, a collaboration between Pyramidal Productions and the Wisconsin Historical Society, celebrates over 50 years of hip-hop culture in the state. The exhibit features music, art, dance, and history, emphasizing Madison's significant role in the hip-hop movement.

Together, these initiatives not only preserve Wisconsin's hip-hop legacy but also inspire future generations by highlighting the state's contributions to the global hip-hop narrative.
